Each grade level consists of 16-20 players chosen from the tryout process. Once games begin, these players are broken down into two teams. These teams are often fluid, giving opportunities for players to compete with both teams. It is our goal to find an appropriate level of competition for all of our players, regardless of their team placement.
Premier Team (Black Team)
This team is made up of players with advanced fundamental skills who have committed themselves to becoming the best basketball players possible. These players have excelled in the competitive leagues in the local Treasure Valley and are among the best in their age/grade. They have committed to playing a longer season and have put forth the effort beyond what is available locally. The Hoop Dreams Club staff is very careful in placing an athlete on a team that best fits their individual skill level so they can play and develop.
Development Team (Blue Team)
This team is made up of players committed to developing their skills in order to play competitively and to achieve the goal of being placed on the Premier team. This team will participate in local tournaments and/or out of state tournaments. They will focus on fundamentals and preparing to excel at a higher level of competition. These players are continuously evaluated by coaches and directors for proper placement so they can excel. The purpose of the development program is to provide in-depth instruction on player and team development beyond the recreational leagues.
